When it comes to cleaning and maintaining our rugs, we recommend promptly addressing spills by gently blotting the stain with a clean white cloth, using lukewarm water for wool rugs, and avoiding water or liquid on Viscose and Tencel rugs. Rinse with clean water and use dry towels to absorb any remaining moisture. For vacuuming, we suggest using canister vacuums without beater bars or gentle brooms, and for high-powered upright vacuums, using the handheld attachment or turning off the beater bar. Avoid vacuuming over the edges and fringes, and if the rug is reversible, vacuum both sides and use the handheld attachment for the fringes.

To address any folds or curls in your new area rug, you can simply lay it out upside down for a couple of days to allow the fibers to relax and flatten naturally. Alternatively, you can place a heavy object, such as a book or a piece of furniture, on each corner for a couple of days to smooth out the curves, being mindful of potential tripping hazards.

As for our shag rugs, we recommend using spray extraction with a wool-approved product for cleaning. Shedding is normal for shag rugs and will decrease over time, so avoid pulling the yarn out, as this may damage the rug. Canister vacuums without a beater bar are the most effective in cleaning shag rugs, as vacuums with beater bars and/or brushes, or those set too low, may damage the rug.
