Rinse with clean water and use dry towels to absorb any remaining moisture. For vacuuming, use canister vacuums without beater bars or gentle brooms. For high-powered upright vacuums, use the handheld attachment or turn off the beater bar. Avoid vacuuming over the edges and fringes. If the rug is reversible, vacuum both sides and use the handheld attachment for the fringes.

Shag Rug Care To clean shag rugs, use spray extraction with a wool-approved product. Shedding is normal for shag rugs and will decrease over time. Do not pull the yarn out, as this may damage the rug. Canister vacuums without a beater bar are the most effective in cleaning shag rugs. Vacuums with beater bars and/or brushes, or those set too low, may damage the rug.
